News - Queer Exhibition and Your Body Belongs to You

I’m am trying to get better at self promotion. In the moment when I have good news or my work is being exhibited, I think “fantastic! I will write post for Instagram/Facebook/Twitter!” I almost always forget to post over here on my actual website. And I need to get into the rhythm of collating information, news and sharing. So I eventually can make this more of a habit and eventually start a newsletter but we shall see how I get on! So I am currently exhibiting and will be exhibiting images from my series ‘Please?’

Something else I completely forgot to share here was ‘Please?’ being shown at Umbrella’s exhibition of Queer Artists, as part of Cultvr Lab’s Summer Camp for Cardiff Pride, back at the end of August. I was honored to be included and Umbrella extended this show to their base in Capitol Centre, top of Queen Street, Cardiff. This time with more exhibitors, showcasing a fantastic range of Queer artists and artwork. If you're about in Cardiff please go check out the show!

After applying for this exhibition way back in the summer, before the entry deadline was extended, I finally heard back about my application. A positive reply! I’m super excited to announce my series 'Please?' has been selected by @shutter_hub for their curated exhibition Your Body Belongs to You! As stated on their website, this show “proposes a visual criticism of our normative conceptions of the human body and its phallocentric representation in Western media.” Showcasing a range of female identifying and non binary photographers. I have already seen some of the photographers and their work being circulated around social media (after we all heard back from our applications) and it already looks like a very varied and interesting exhibition! Keep your eyes peeled for more information in the future!
